19 January 2024003 Mins Read

There’s nothing like a warm indoor activity on a winter day, especially if that activity involves learning something new – for free! You can take advantage of free admission at Toronto museums and galleries on select days of the week, the perfect way to spend a winter day.

The best part is that there’s no limit to how many times you can attend.

What’re you waiting for? Mark these days on your calendar and enjoy!

Free Third Tuesdays at The ROM

Bring your friends and family to The ROM on the third Tuesday night of each month for a free museum visit from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM! This monthly offer includes free access to all of the galleries and exhibitions at the museum including free admission to The ROM’s special exhibitions Death: Life’s Greatest Mystery and Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

There is no advanced booking necessary to attend, but admission does run on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Where: The Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queens Park
When: Every third Tuesday of the month from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM

AGO Free Wednesday Nights

The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) has a longstanding tradition of allowing the public to visit the gallery for free every Wednesday evening.

When: Wednesdays from 6 PM to 9 PM

MOCA Free Friday Nights

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) has a Free Friday Nights tradition that brings art lovers together on everyone’s favourite night of the week.

Visitors are invited to celebrate contemporary art and community and enjoy live performances, installations, pop-ups, activations, and more.

Bata Shoe Museum Access Sundays

Toronto’s iconic shoe museum is open to all visitors (and shoe lovers) for free on Sundays.

Gardiner Museum Free Wednesdays

Toronto’s Gardiner Museum is free for everybody on Wednesday evenings after 4 PM.
